Your club can have a home with the HATVA. The advantages Haliburton ATV Association provides are numerous. If you have a group of riders that want to maintain their own club brand BUT you need the administration, insurance, marketing and possibly more trails to ride then we should talk. Below is a Charter for Clubs who wish to be part of HATVA. Take a look and see if our model fits with your club. HATVA has over 3000 km of signed, mapped and insured trails. This is by far the biggest managed atv trail system in Ontario covering most of central Ontario. Great variety in trails too - from beginner to expert, only two hours from Toronto. Think about it, talk about it and give us a call.

Charter For Associate Clubs As Part of HATVA
Premise is equality of Associate clubs and equality for all members at large
Associate clubs can have their own brand identity/name
Associate clubs can have their own management committee independent of HATVA - but not a separate legal Board of Directors
Associate clubs will have Board member(s) on the HATVA Board of Directors
Associate clubs get $75 of the annual or $150 of the family membership fee. Here's the math.
HATVA anniversary pass cost is $95 individual or $195 family.
Associate club gets $75 per membership (yearly member or family member)
HATVA gets $20 per individual Associate member or $40 Associate family membership
Associate clubs can buy their own liability insurance or they can use HATVA's insurance for $20 per individual member or family membership.
Associate clubs will receive their share of Power Pass revenue based on their # of annual club members as a % of the total, eg. Currently 100 members represents 16.6% - 300 members 37.5% of the revenue to the Association. Premise is that Associates and HATVA market Power Pass together so that members have that option.
Associate clubs do not have to run a separate set of financial records (journals, P&L or balance sheet) from HATVA and as such are not subject to individual audit or revenue filings however Associate clubs along with HATVA can keep track of their local expenditures separately to insure that Associate clubs have a full understanding of their costs of operation.
The Board of Directors - HATVA makes the decisions for all members following the bylaws of the corporation - Associate clubs are represented on the Board
Associate club pays for the trail insurance for their members or it may purchase the insurance from HATVA for $20 per member
There is one trail system and as Associates join HATVA the system simply expands and we all contribute under the same pass system. Associates will contribute to HATVA trail signage at cost based on their trail requirements in the region and will maintain the trails in their respective region. HATVA will supply signage as requested at cost.
If an Associate leaves HATVA they can resign & reinsure trails in their geographic catchment area only
If an Associate club leaves HATVA it is not assumed or assured that they will automatically become an ATVOntario node or an alliance member of any reciprocal agreement - this is to be decided by the ATVOntario Board and HATVA.
Associated clubs need not incorporate and do not require Letters Patent as they are part of the HATVA incorporation. If they wish to incorporate - they may do so.
HATVA holds Letters Patent and all Associate clubs utilize and operate by the HATVA bylaws
HATVA provides admin services to all Associate clubs without cost
HATVA provides marketing capability and HATVA collateral materials for Associate clubs without cost
HATVA provides the membership passes and maintains records
HATVA provides training, safety programs and media requirements for Associate clubs without cost
HATVA provides assistance with road openings & political issues
HATVA online & manual pass generation with standard conditions of sale is the common vehicle to sell passes & memberships for all members however each Associate club would be identified with each membership sold. Associates may sell and submit their members bulk to HATVA.
Associated clubs have access to all rides and events as all members do
Associate clubs need to have enough volunteer members committed to helping and doing their fair share but there are no minimum numbers that are required
Associate clubs should be seen as additional brands as part of HATVA not separate to HATVA
Associate clubs do not have to have trails in their own area to belong to HATVA
Associate members who are HATVA Directors have signing authorities as any other assigned Director and as such can issue payments for expenses consistent with assigned O/A's - based on the limits assigned by the Board
